In an effort to provide the highest quality program, Childhelp Speak Up Be Safe seeks to support facilitators to create safe, enjoyable, and effective learning experiences for students. In addition to the curricula, Childhelp Speak Up Be Safe has developed a number of resources for facilitators to help ensure quality and fidelity, and to support the ongoing development. Facilitators should be aware of the signs and symptoms of child abuse and neglect and bullying; understand the impact of abuse and neglect on children; know how to reduce risk and build resilience in families and communities. Information is also available for facilitators on the developmental characteristics of the child; how to handle a child's disclosure of abuse and neglect should it occur, and to provide guidance on mandated reporting. The facilitator's skills guide provides a companion resource to the curricula.
The program also provides a Facebook Facilitator Group for certified facilitators to collaborate, share ideas and concerns and interact with colleagues across the country. Visit our Facebook Facilitator Group page for more information.
